errands with Linsey...

Today has been quite the adventurous day. Linsey did not have school so I thought it may be good to get some errands done. She actually likes doing all the tedious stuff that I despise, bank, post office, and grocery shopping, so I bring her to help lighten the mood. To make matters worse the minute I stepped outside the sky decided to open up and torrential down pour!

First stop was the post office. I, while standing in line, see a man at his po box. He looked a bit confused and a bit distraught. He then proceeds to cut in front of everyone and says to the clerk " I can't open these things can you help me?" She politely says yes but I do have other customers that I need to service. She then opens it and hands it back to him. NO thank you or anything from this man. Then out of no where while still standing at the counter the man says what does this mean? the clerk reads it and says your Insurance has been canceled sir...He proceeds to say "no it cant be I paid it!" At this point I am at the counter chuckling to myself and she is looking at me rolling her eyes. Still arguing with the postal clerk about the payment that was made, I finish up and I can get out of there....I was in there way to long at this point.

Then to the bank, that was uneventful. Not even a lollipop!!! Linsey was ripped off. Maybe if I had asked for a sucker, I would have gotten results. The lingo here is so different, like instead of "pushing the button" it would be "mash the button" go figure!

Our last stop was Whole foods. I actually like going in here, but only if Linsey is with me. She likes the smaller basket carts and pushes them for me. We get all of our fruits and veggies here. Since my food allergies I have had to experiment with more foods and things I thought I would never eat, like asparagus, sweet potatoes and mangos. These foods are wonderful and the best thing is my kids love them!!! Oh, and we got our very first Pumpkin of the season to carve..can't wait that will be after dinner.

Well I have to take linsey to volleyball and then get ready for My parents visit in the morning...so clean I must!

Here Goes...

Well I finally did it! I am going to start this blog in hopes to keep family updated on us here in SC. While I don't consider myself a writer in any sense of the word but I am going to attempt it so bear with me. So far, it has been quite the adjustment for us here but we now are finally settling in. Everyone we have met has been so incredibly nice and accommodating. (We are so not used to that back in Mass.)

I was worried that the kids would have the toughest time adjusting, boy was I wrong! I think I can honestly say I was worried over nothing. But hey I am mom ~that's justification enough. So when they say kids really are resilient, they are and they really surprised me. Kayla being just 17 and going into her senior year was easier than she thought. She has made some friends rather quickly and actually wanted to move here. Then Linsey. She surprises me everyday. She came here joined the softball league made a ton of friends and has been on the phone more than I have. and for any of you that know me I can talk. Especially when I get talking to my childhood best friend! We can talk for hours! (no lie, ask my husband) Her softball team went to the championships they came in 2nd but they were awesome!! Now Linsey is playing Volleyball. Another sport that I didn't think she'd get into but once again I was wrong. She's good!

Anyway, I guess the best part of this move is that we as a family have become closer considering that we were all we had. We have had to make the best of it and it has worked out better than expected. We have already moved~ from an apartment into a home, that we absolutely love! We also got a new puppy. His name is Fenway. (pictures soon) So two dogs a new house and lots to still see here. Mountain, lakes, and miles of beautiful landscape.....

More later...
